Dr. Vishal Khullar is one of Mumbai’s most experienced cardiac and cardiothoracic surgeons, with over 30 years of clinical practice and 7,000+ successful heart surgeries to his name.
He trained at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Ohio, USA, one of the world’s leading cardiac centers, before joining the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, as Senior Associate Consultant for 3.5 years — becoming the first cardiac surgeon from the Indian subcontinent to hold that position. During his time in the U.S., he was involved in over 300 heart and lung transplants and ventricular assist device procedures, and trained cardiac fellows from India, South Korea, China, Japan, the United States, and Argentina.
Today, Dr. Khullar serves as Director – Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Heart & Lung Transplant at Fortis Hospital Mulund and Fortis S. L. Raheja Hospital, Mahim, Mumbai — bringing the same international standard of cardiac care home to his patients.
